Damage to the environment is an inevitable consequence of worldwide improvements in the standards of living. To what extent do you agree or disagree.
It can not be denied that air, water, and soil are necessary to the survival of all living things. Badly polluted air can cause illness, and even death. Polluted water kills fish and other marine life. Pollution of the soil reduces the amount of land that is available for growing food. However, the pollution problem is very complicated because much pollution is caused by things that benefit people. From my point of view, I completely agree with this statement.
First of all, the automobile provides transportation for millions of people. There is no doubt that exhausts from automobile causes a large percentage of air pollution. In fact, our cars are now the single greatest contributors of poisonous gases in our environment today. These poisonous gases create many serious environmental problems, which in turn affect the health of all human beings. However, we can image how hard we will be in daily activities without automobile. Moreover, we can not travel from A to B with long distances.
Secondly, factories not only produce various different products to satisfy the needs and wants of customers but also give employment to a large number of people. However, the waste that results from factory production often ends up in the soil and subsequently in streams and rivers. Waste also contaminates the air, contributing to smog, poor air quality and acid rain.
Thus, to end or greatly reduce pollution immediately, people would have to stop using many things that benefit people. Pollution can be gradually reduced in several ways. I am certain that scientists and engineers can work to find ways to lessen the amount of pollution that such thing as automobiles and factories cause. Governments can pass and enforce laws that require business and individuals to stop, or to cut down on certain polluting activities.
